I have even tried moving the jpg image file that is to be used for the desktop background to a new location (not in NETLOGON) and shared that folder with Read, List and Execute Permissions for the shared folder and the image itself. The time and date are correct, the OU Users have Read, List and Execute Permissions to the NETLOGON folder. The XP machine has all of the latest updates as of today, including KB943729. Yet the 7 system has all of the GPO's applied successfully. This happens on both the XP and 7 systems. The users are not able to add or remove items fromīut one odd error is that when I log in as an OU user, I am unable to access the Netlogon folder or any share on the DC (it is named DC.) for example I open up My Computer, in the address bar I type '\\DC' and I get an error stating "Access to the resource One of the other policies redirects the desktop to a folder for all users. There are some other GPO that are working for the XP Machine and the 7 PC, such as Desktop icons being added, a Custom start menu. When the user logs into XP, the background is white. The user does not have permission to change the background. I have made a GPO on my Windows 2008 R2 Server that will set the desktop background to a designated image for the OU Student users.
